Explanatory footnotes or Efn are footnotes which provide something other than, or more than, a reference to a source that supports the accompanying text. The first unnamed parameter is displayed as the content of the footnote. Note that if the note's content contains an "=" character, the reference will not be displayed; precede the content with |1=
to fix the error.
Efn uses the predefined lower-alpha
reference group to be able to have distinct labels.
Like reference tags, the template supports the use of name
parameter.
Usage
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.{{efn|Footnote 1}} Consectetur adipisicing elit.{{efn|Footnote 2|name=two}} Sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt{{efn|Footnote 3}} ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.{{efn|Footnote 2|name=two}} {{notelist}}
which renders as:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.[a] Consectetur adipisicing elit.[b] Sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt[c] ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.[b]
